Correction and Retraction
Journal of Sport Coaching Science and Practice (JSCSP) is committed to upholding the integrity of the academic record. We follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding corrections, retractions, and expression of concern.
1. Corrections (Erratum & Corrigendum)
Corrections are published when an honest error is discovered in a published article that does not affect the validity of the results or conclusions.
-
Erratum: Used for errors introduced by the publisher during the production process (e.g., typos, layout errors).
-
Corrigendum: Used for errors introduced by the author(s) (e.g., calculation errors, missing funding information).
2. Retractions
Articles may be retracted if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error). Retraction is also applicable in cases of:
-
Plagiarism or redundant publication.
-
Unethical research practices.
-
Major conflicts of interest that were not disclosed.
A retraction notice will be linked to the original article, clearly stating the reason for the retraction and who is retracting the article.
3. Withdrawal of Published Articles
In extremely rare circumstances, an article may be completely removed from the online database. This only occurs if the article is defamatory, infringes on legal rights, constitutes a serious health risk, or is subject to a court order. In such cases, the metadata (title and authors) will remain, but the text will be replaced with a notice indicating the article has been removed.
